Hoobastank w/ Special Guest ON SALE TOMORROW (2/13)

When a band has as much success as Hoobastank, the motivation to top itself must come from within. That renewed desire can be heard from the very first notes of "My Turn," the first single from the group's fourth Island Def Jam Music Group album, Fornever, which marks a return to the rock roots of their first two releases, the platinum-plus self-titled debut and the two-million-plus-selling The Reason.

"My Turn," a self-motivational anthem that marks the band's return to the airwaves, was Top 5 Most Added at Active Rock and #6 at Alternative even before its official impact with an alphabet soup of the country's leading stations putting it in their rotation.

"We're very hungry this time," says vocalist/songwriter Doug Robb of the band, which came together in 1994, when he joined with a pair of his Agoura Hills high school classmates, Dan Estrin on guitar and Chris Hesse on drums. "Maybe there is a chip on our shoulder, because we have that fire in the belly again. We're ready to do whatever we have to in order to get back to where we want to be. Even if we won't come out and say so."

New updates - Lotus opener, Lucinda Williams and a New Billboard?

Hey y'all,

We just got word that Orchard Lounge will be opening for Lotus @ Minglewoood Hall on 2/19/09....If you are unfamiliar with their work you can download a number of FREE podcasts on itunes by searching "orchard lounge" in the itunes store and subscribing to their FREE podcast.

Orchard Lounge is a collective of DJs and close friends that formed in Chicago in 2000. The trio of Ben Silver, Spencer Lokken, and Bethany Lokken, focus on performing for the more discerning of dance floors, and are known to appeal to open-minded and diverse audiences. They've never let their passion for the beat confine them to a single genre, as their sets may include anything from laid back downtempo/IDM to hypnotic tech house and b-boy era electro. Don't be surprised if you hear an entire night of music dedicated to the sounds that have heavily influenced them as DJs either: they all share an affinity for classic hip hop, rock, funk, and soul, as well. This is the reasoning behind "OL: From the Dance Floor to the Couch". It's the appropriate defining phrase for the group because of their innate programming and record selection skills, as well as their talents in creating an experience for most any state of mind or environment. Some may label this as being versatile, however the three simply consider themselves serious music lovers with similar, albeit eclectic, interests. At the very core, they're highly enthusiastic individuals full of praise for the producers whose names appear on their records. To that end, they've always fully understood their role as middlemen (and woman!), and if they are to accept the coveted role of tastemaker, they want it to soley benefit the artists whom they all admire. .......read more here

Also just announded is LUCINDA WILLIAMS w/ Buick 6 @ Minglewood Hall on 2/24/09....Tickets go ON SALE FRIDAY, JANUARY 16th @ 10am ...HERE....
And finally, if you haven't driven past Minglewood Hall lately, we just added a new billboard on the top of the building. Here is a picture of the old look:
