Awnings & Bricks!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

Since it's Halloween, we decided to dress up the building a little bit :)

We just installed some new awnings on the Madison side, replacing the old pinstripe awnings that had been there for years. Take a drive by this weekend and take a look....

The Willet side of the building is also being dressed up. Gone are the old pictures and ugly facade. Now there is a fresh face of brick with a nice walk way and a location for a future sign/awning.

Stage, Paint & Finished Walls!

This week has seen a lot of progress but if you've been driving by you probably haven't noticed much. There hasn't been the usual giant cranes or dump trucks on Madison. This week most of the progress has been internal. The Walls for the restaurant are going up:

and the atrium is taking shape. The box office is being Framed:

and the contractors are starting to frame the stage:

Also, they just flattened the future parking area and laid down the 1st layer of Pavement on Willet & Monroe:

AC, Concrete, drywall and more!!

The past few days have seen a lot of giant cranes, flatbed trucks, and concrete around Minglewood Hall. The huge cranes came on Friday to load in the new AC units:

The VIP section, inside the Hall, have also been getting a lot of attention lately. Most of the framing is done and the old AC ducts have been removed:

And finally today has seen a lot of concrete being poured. The floor for the atrium bar, the floor for the restaurant, and the new Emergency Exit stairs were all poured this morning:

there are some more pics I just loaded in the new October section at the Minglewoodhall picture site

Welcome to the Minglewood Hall Blog

Minglewood Hall is about 4 months into a 6 month construction phase that will completely renovate the old building at 1555 Madison Ave. in Midtown Memphis into a premier venue for music, wedding receptions, and all types of special event. The history of this building takes you from a Tastee Bread Factory, Memphis Designers’ Showcase, Holy Trinity Community Church and since 1999 the Strings and Things Music Store. This new renovate will help with the revival of midtown as the place to see music in Memphis.

With the renovate just months away from completion, here are a few ways you can stay up to date with whats happening around Minglewood Hall.
